Uuring hõlmab kakskeelsete linnade elanike igapäevaelu Eestis ja Soomes. Soomes kuulusid uuringugruppi Loviisa linna rootsi- ja soomekeelsed pered, Eestis uuriti Võru linna eesti- ja venekeelseid peresid.

The everyday life of families in two bilingual towns is investigated by Estonian, Russian and Finnish ethnologists. In Finnish Loviisa the target groups were Swedish- and Finnish-language families, while in Võru, Estonia they were Estonian- and Russian-language families. The bulk of the research was conducted at the end of the 1980s before the breakup of the Soviet Union and Estonia's achievement of independence.
