Professor Martens' Departure

Jaan Kross · The New Press · 1994

Professor Martens' Departure - Jaan Kross (The New Press, 1994). Punase tausta keskel asuv suur valge ring, milles on vana klassikalise arhitektuuriga hoone (tõenäoliselt Peterburi Kaasani katedraal) õlimaalingu stiilis kujutis. Ringi katab diagonaalne must kolmnurk, mis loob dramaatilise geomeetrilise kontrasti.
«This is a dense and many-layered novel. To borrow Virginia Woolf's remark about Middlemarch, Jaan Kross is a novelist for grownups.»
Doris Lessing, The Independent

«Professor Marten's Departure defies easy categorization. It offers the reader entry into a distinctive historical milieu while simultaneously providing insight into our own times.»
Houston Chronicle

«A fascinating historical novel. Highly recommended.»
