In this book political developments in the bourgeois Republic of Estonia in 1934–1940 is discussed. Those years were full of events reflecting tense international relations which finally led to the outbreak of World War II.
In order to understand more deeply the logical course of the events in those years, the first chapter gives a short survey of the political stuggle in the earlier period.
For this book the author has obtained material from archives and published documents as well as the press of that period. Works of other historians have also been taken into account.
