The Soviet Baltic Republics – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – are equal and sovereign members of the friendly family of fifteen constituent republics of the Soviet Union. The area of the Soviet Baltic Republics abutting on the Baltic Sea extends for 730 kilometres from north to south and for 442 kilometres from west to east.
The Soviet Baltic Republics have a total area of 174,000 sq.km and a population of over 7 million.
