Kogumikku on koondatud artiklid kahelt Eestis peetud seminarilt 2006. ja 2007. a. Mõlemil seminaril käsitleti eesti ja läti kirjandust.

ESTONIA and LATVIA - so close but so far, neighbouring countries which have had similar histories and similar cultures in some ways, but at the same time have different languages. Inside the countries and cultures we stress differences - it seems that we would like to be different countries with different cultures and identities, but at the same time we would like to be friends.
The articles in this collection are based on the presentations from the two seminars which took place in Tallinn on 12 October 2006 and in Viinistu in northern Estonia, on 21-23 May 2007. Both seminars studied Latvian and Estonian texts which had been selected together by Estonian and Latvian colleagues.
